We would like to welcome you to Gdańsk - the city with a past reaching back over a thousand years, and the capital of the Pomerania Region. Both the past and present of the city on the Motława justify its aspiration to be the economic, industrial and cultural centre of the Region. Gdańsk became a big attraction for tourists. We particurarly recommend the splendidly renovated Uphagen House at Długa Street, as well as the impressive of Artus Court and the Main Town Hall.
But these are not only the numerous splendid monuments. The city is proud of Gdańsk's modern history. The history of Gdańsk includes such events as the outbreak of the Second World War and the creation of "Solidarity", the first free labour union in communist Europe.
Sailors, always in great number during the summer season, will surely be pleased by the yacht marina located in the centre on the waters of the Motława River, facing the famous crane gate. We wish you many unforgettable memories from the city on the Motława. Each Gdańsk is the host of Baltic Sail event.
